Why does the File/OpenRecent list in Kate NOW take up the ENTIRE SCREEN?

Hi

1. When I use Kate (KDE Advanced Text Editor), and select File/OpenRecent, when
I place the mouse-arrow over OpenRecent (ie I DON'T click on it), the list of
recently opened files immediately appears. But the list window takes up the
ENTIRE SCREEN (and no borders or anything).

2. But it didn't used to do that (and I've not changed a setting to make it do
that). What it used to do is this (ie the correct behaviour): I select
File/OpenRecent, THEN have to CLICK on OpenRecent. Then a nice average-sized
drop down list appeared of the recent files.

3. Do you know WHY it's changed its behaviour by itself, to that in para 1?
What it's doing now is a real pain.

4. I've used Kate for some time on another identical laptop (Acer Aspire 5755G)
with the same OS (Knoppix installed to HD), and it hasn't displayed the
behaviour in para 1. (I can't presently use the other laptop to do any
comparisons).

Thanks very much. John.

Which version of Kate?

How long is the list and have you tried clearing it to see whether that makes a difference?

I use Kate almost daily--several different versions depending on which computer I'm using--and have not observed this.
