I recently installed Slackware 14.2 with the default KDE 4 setup onto my PC. I immediately fell in love with the customisability of KDE and the simplicity of the Slackware distribution. However, after merely opening Calligra Words resulted in a segfault, I figured the oft-touted rock-hard stability of the default full installation of Slackware might be a bit exaggerated.
As a result, I am now experimenting with more up-to-date software. KDE 5 is beautifully designed, but it is lacking the customisability of date formats that KDE 4 offered. Specifically, I like to use Taiwan's ROC calendar in place of the Gregorian calendar. KDE 4 offered this, but KDE 5 has me hacking QML files.
I have successfully fixed the Digital Clock widget included in the taskbar by editing the following QML file:
Code:
/usr/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.digitalclock/contents/ui/DigitalClock.qml
However, the clocks on the SDDM login screen and on the lock screen remain the same.
I have no idea where the QML files corresponding to the clocks on the SDDM login screen (Breeze theme) and the lock screen are. I have tried editing the following QML file to no avail:
Code:
/usr/share/sddm/themes/breeze/Clock.qml
If anyone could point me in the right direction, I would be grateful in the extreme.
