Where are gedit settings saved?

Hi,

where does Gedit save the settings? I am running Fedora 28 with LXDE. All I found was /home/username/.config/gedit/accels file but there is no settings info in it.

Thanks

Are there gedit settings under ~/.local? That's another place I would look.

unfortunately it is not that simple: https://askubuntu.com/questions/3750...ts-preferences
probably here (but I'm not really sure): /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/gschemas.compiled

Interesting. They have to be under /home/your-user somewhere. Since Gedit is a gnome app, I wonder if the data is stored in some proprietary Gnome database under your home. I know Gnome stores desktop settings in a proprietary db/structure but it’s been so long since I have used Gnome or anything related to it I can’t remember at the moment.

EDIT: pan64 got it.

I have the same situation. It may be that Gedit usually uses the Gnome configuration area and neither you nor I are using Gnome. But why do you need to access the file — doesn't the Preferences option do what you want?

it does, but I am migrating from Linux Fedora 28 with LXDE to latest default Linux Fedora, which is Fedora 34 Gnome 40. SO, I thought I could just migrate the settings file instead of setting it manually again.
