Web Filter on the User Side

I have a redhat FC5 machine with a DSL connection. My ISP does filter out some bad sites, but a lot of sites make it through the filter. I would like to block more sites. Is there anything I can run on my machine to restrict more websites. It is a standalone machine. I am using firefox.

I once wrote an article on parental control for my Wiki. It is Slackware-centric, but you can use the general concepts, and the program configurations in any case. I deployed a combination of iptables, tinyproxy and dansguardian to achieve the desired effect.
