Thumbs up Wacom doesn't work on Centos6.4

Hello,

I have a question that wacom doesn't work on CentOS6.4

Environment :
1. OS : CentOS6.4
2. Wacom : Intuos4 6x9
3. Control center version : control-center-2.28.1-38.el6.x86_64
4. Wacom libary and driver :
xorg-x11-drv-wacom-0.16.1-3.el6.x86_64
wacomexpresskeys-0.4.2-3.el6.x86_64
libwacom-data-0.5-4.el6.noarch
libwacom-0.8-1.el6.x86_64

Wacom tablet doesn't work after the below steps. I tested this with several tablets and CentOS'
Step 1. run gnome-wacom-properties and close.
Step 2. unplug/plug wacom tablet from the machine.

Messages login file in /var/log/ didn't have any error messages related the issue.
Here is the messages when I unplug and replug the wacom tablet.

[Unplug wacom tablet]
kernel: usb 5-1: USB disconnect, device number 2

[Replug wacom tablet]
kernel: usb 5-1: new full speed USB device number 3 using uhci_hcd
kernel: usb 5-1: New USB device found, idVendor=056a, idProduct=00b9
kernel: usb 5-1: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0
kernel: usb 5-1: Product: PTK-640
kernel: usb 5-1: Manufacturer: Tablet
kernel: usb 5-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
kernel: input: Wacom Intuos4 6x9 as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.3/usb5/5-1/5-1:1.0/input/input11

Unplugged and replugge wacom tablet to the machine didn't work.
However, I got the D-Bus error message when I ran gnome-volume-properties when wacom tablet had a problem as bellows.

W: main.c: Unable to contact D-Bus: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoServer: Failed to connect to socket /tmp/dbus-2jAjHbIOnS: Connection refused

I updated wacom tablet driver to the last driver, but no luck.
Sometime, unplgging wacom tablet and restart messagebus work, but I want to know how to troubleshoot for the original issue.

Any answers are very appreciated!

Thanks,

Looks more like a problem with D-Bus. Maybe try "service messagebus restart"

Thanks smallpond,

I do restart messagebus when clients have the issue.
There are over 200 centos clients, so I would like to get some help how to fix the original issue that running gnome-wacom-properties and unplugging/replugging wacom tablet affect dbus crashed.

Thanks,

well first thing
CentOS 6.4 is unsupported and has been for some time
centos6.4 IS WIDE OPEN to the " now fixed" ssl hole

cent ONLY!! supports the current minor versions

CentOS 6.6
CentOS 7.0
and the old legacy support
CentOS 5.11

also all software is LOCKED at the version when the major version came out

ALL major versions of the software in CentOS 6.6 was LOCKED at the version it was back in July of 2011 when centos 6.0 was released
and they will STILL be the same major versions in 2020 when cent6 hits end of life

also be aware that cent is using the REDHAT documentation as of CentOS6
all support docs are the redhat ones
https://access.redhat.com/documentat...erprise_Linux/

have you tried getting this to work on the CURRENT operating system
CentOS 7.0
it has support for newer hardware

also did you manually add a entry to "xorg.conf " for the device ?
udev should auto "see" it but it might not

also where did you get "xorg-x11-drv-wacom-0.16.1-3.el6.x86_64"
-- that is NOT the current --
the current is "xorg-x11-drv-wacom-0.23.0-4.el6.x86_64.rpm"
the current is in the current OS's install dvd / base repo
