Question Unable to load KDE

I recently reinstalled Fedora 27 on my system to fix a number of problems. I kept the home folder on a separate partition so that was preserved during the reinstall process. Now when I try to log in with my existing account it just goes back to the login prompt. The root login works just fine though. I did try setting a password for my old account as well. Do I need to update ownership of that folder to the current account or clear out the old profile config files?

FYI Linux system recognizes users by their UID:GID. Your new install probably assigned a different UID to your user, now you have to chown your home directory recursively to apply new UID ownership.
