Ubuntu isn't working and I can't boot from disk
Hey guys, complete linux newb here.
I'm having trouble booting up my little brother's computer, (he is running Ubuntu 9.10, 9800GTX+ SLI/Quad Core/Zotac Motherboard). If you guys have further questions on the configuration, don't hesitate to ask because I'm not sure what specifics to give. The problem is I can't login, and Ubuntu insists on running on low-graphics mode, but won't let me. I tried getting into BIOS and booting off the disk, but it'll still go to low-graphics mode ask for the login, and when I'm prompted for the password I can't type anything. What's going on here?
How can I configure BIOS to boot off of CDROM? It seems to be booting of the HD even though I set CDROM as the first priority?
Any help on the problem would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you need me to clarify something please ask.
