ubuntu 9.10 is CRAP compare to 9.04

Nothing but problems over 10 different hardware. It is a good time to dump Ubuntu and move on. No wonder, corps don't want to touch it. It seems like back to Fedora or Debian for me. Anyone starts to develop hatred towards Ubuntu? Their roll outs feel like Microsoft. What happened to exhaustive testing?

we, the end user, it seems, are the (unknowing) testers.

I noticed when I first starting using Linux all the threads about fed 11 being twiggy
when it first hit, then 9.04, now 9.10 and others
I now wait at least a month after a distro comes out, before downloading anything

as for Ubuntu going soft and dindows like, it figures

what distro's you wanna try?

Both fadora and ubuntu are implementing devicekit to replace hal for managing hardware in there new version, so your likely to face the same hardware problems with both.

In linux we are all beta testers we just don't charge you to be one.

After seven years of reporting bugs, I give up. I really hate how Linux always try to fix something that isn't broken. Ubuntu LTS release cycle is way too slow, and the regular release is too fast. It usually takes 3 months to patch all their bugs, then you only have 3 months to enjoy it before the next release. Ubuntu model isn't working any more. I had nightmares with Fedora in the past. I guess nothing has changed. Maybe, Slackware or Debian for myself now on. It seems like it is hard to recommend it as a desktop to corps. Still, CentOS has worked for me at work.

I'd go for a Gentoo release. It has a stable and a unstable portage tree. You can easily choose to upgrade or downgrade a package in portage. It gives you complete control over revisions. It solves the LTS and Testing release issue's with Ubuntu, Fedora and Debian.

The only drawback I hate about Arch & Debian; is that its difficult to downgrade recent upgrades, something the Gentoo has.
