Ubuntu 8.04 Admin access

Hi All,

I have just taken out a server and it has Ubuntu Desktop on it, now I cannot have root control, only admin. I have been able to create 2 new users using the usual command but now require for them to have the same access that I have - however when I run the command it advises I require root access.

Does anyone know a way around this?

Many Thanks,

egghead0

well ubuntu uses the sudo framework, which you've not mentioned. are you aware of it? What are you actually running, and what is the exact message you're getting back?
