Ubuntu 7.10 / Drive Failure

My 80GB drive failed (it was under warranty), so I rebuild my system from scratch. Once my new drive arrives next week I'd like to be able to move my current build over to it. How in the world do I go about doing this?

Windoze I'd use ghost, but I have never attempted this with Linux.

My tried and true method (all done from a liveCD);
- stick the new drive in, partition and mkfs
- "cp -a old new" for each partition
- fix up fstab
- install bootloader to MBR and clean up the config file (if needed).

Reboot the new disk.

Much more flexible than using an imaging product. And caters for the possibility of the new disk being smaller.
