Ubuntu 12.04 Grub to Boot issues and errors

Regardless if I install 32 or 64 bit, in a virtual machine or directly on a drive for dedicated use, I can not evade these error messages:

"No Video mode activated"

"SMbus base not initialized" (uninitialized)

In addition to the above, boot hangs after scripts-init-bottom is loaded (or so I think they are).

Hardware:
Intel dual core
Nvidia 780i chipset (Flashed to most current BIOS)
Nvidia graphics (2 cards, tried removing SLI bridge and just using 1)

What I have tried:

For "No video mode activated"
(Commented) #Grub_Hidden_Timeout (worked in hiding the error but now I get to see the grub loader and I would rather not)

For "SMbus base not initialized" (uninitialized)
Added "blacklist i2c_piix4" to the end of /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf file, saved and ran update-initramfs -u -k all
(hid the message, but kept the wait time)

Then I added "nomodeset" after "quiet splash" saved and updated grub (no change)

Finally I became daring and added "vga=0 nomodeset" and was worse off than above (I had the displeasure of having to reinstall all over again)

As far as scripts-init-botton I honestly have no clue what to do...

Updates and Upgrades seem have no effect.

Again, these issues are present both in a virtual machine AND directly on a system install.

After many days of tinkering and searching for solutions, I am at a loss. I can understand that virtual machines are "virtual" and are limited to certain fixes. My largest concern is that of a purely Ubuntu machine.

If anyone knows of a way to either explain or resolve these issues they would honestly make my week... Thanks so much in advance.

Are you encrypting the disks during install?

Does the live cd work correctly?

Did you test download of iso?

No encryption (Auto login), ISO works (very slow burn) and yes-no errors detected.

With that being said, I will still get that annoying piix4 error even with a live cd boot. I have always had that issue (piix4) but it never cost me any performance issues like this before and was "fixable". 10.04LTS had the same issues as this package (12.04), though CentOS and Fedora only had the piix4 error.

I start to wonder if it's a 780i chipset issue that just likes to fight with Linux distros... ...in particular, Gnome based.
