Ubuntu 10.10, Cube issue possibly b/c 3d Graphics Accelerator

Hello all,
It's been a while since I have used Linux and I would like to get back into it. I just recently installed Ubuntu 10.10. Anyway I thought I correctly installed the graphics drivers for my Nvidia Geforce 8600M. I also then enabled the Cube and other effects using Simple CompizConfig Settings Manager. Anyway it is not working I tried several things. I have searched relentlessly on forums trying to find answers but still cannot get it working. Any help would be appreciative.

Steve
