Trying to add 'open as root' to Dolphin with multiple distros and all end in failure

N00b here.

So this evening, I was playing around with Kubuntu, Neon and Debian. I tried to do something I thought was simple. Like with Linux Mint MATE.... I wanted to be able to simply right click on a txt file and do an "open as administrator". I followed these directions:

https://www.kubuntuforums.net/archiv...p/t-64464.html

... and it failed on all 3 distros. Debian was the weirdest. When I read to make sure Ruby was installed, I opened a terminal and did an: apt install ruby .... I got a permission error that some file couldn't be locked so I typed: sudo apt install ruby and it said I have the latest version of Ruby. Then I tried to run Dolphin as root to then try installing the 'Root Actions' service from within Dolphin but when tried running Dolphin with elevated access, Debian asked for the root pw and I entered it but got another error about how my account doesn't have sudo access or something!?

But anways.... ok, so I thought maybe my Debian install is botched. When I carried at the same steps in Kubuntu and Neon, I just got a generic "installation failed" error that popped up from the bottom right.

What's a fool-proof way to add that "open as administrator" action item into Dolphin for these 3 distros?

Thanks
