I am running Debian with GNOME right now. However, I am slightly convinced that I want to change to KDE. Is there an easy method to uninstall GNOME and install KDE without too much hassle. Also - will my currently installed programs be affected (Thunderbird... etc)?
Any advice / help with this would be greatly appreciated. Is it worth the switch? Can this be done easily (and how would I go about doing this)?
emm... it it not a good idea to uninstall gnome as you might need some of the library files in the future (e.g. gparted)... you can just install kde as usual and it should co-exist fine... after you have installed kde, just log out from your gnome... in the login screen, choose kde and the next time it will automatically change to kde... oh, use kdm instead of gdm as you can use the control center-->sytem administration--> login manager to tweak some kewl options...
