The first, and more pressing problem right now:

When I issue startx I get the steps like it's loading and get the initial blue screen with a black X in the middle (I think it's blue anyway, I'm color-blind) then I'm returned to the CL with the following:
Code:

Any help here would be hot!
The second problem may be resolved through the GUI, or at least easier resolved there so I won't deal with that issue yet.

Thanks for any/all help.

Thumbs up Who'da thunk (solved)

Well I guess I should never assume. I assumed that in selecting KDE (and the neccesary packages) that it would be there. Apparently not! I down loaded KDE 3.5 and now startx works as it should. I guess the startx command was in fact working correctly but had no real GUI to run?
