Start X in background

Simple problem: I want X to start and while it starts I want to continue working on my tty without getting any text from X and especially without automatically switchting to tty7.

I tried the option -novtswitch or -noswitchvt, they did not work, I still switched to tty7.

If there is no option, maybe someone is more skilled in understanding source code and tell me, wether i could comment out a particular line in the source of X to stop the behaviour of automatically switchting to tty7.

It even switches to TTY7,when I am on an other terminal than the one running xinit.
