smplayer: video+audio stutters with pulseaudio, audio files play fine
 

As the topic says, mplayer plays audio files fine through pulseaudio but when playing video the audio stutters and pulseaudio process starts using close to 100% CPU.
No problems if I use ESD instead of pulse for audio playback.

Any idea what could be causing this?

it might help if you tell us what videos do this

most likely it is *.avi or .rm(.ram) files use vlc or real player for real.avi's and .rm's
pulse works fine for me on f9 , what is your sound card ?
