I was having problem with GE and Slack 13.1 with my Pentium 4 and Radeon Xpress 200 built-in, it was looking ugly, but a was back to mesa 7.7.1 and the problem was resolved. Everything go very well.

P.D. Zenwalk is a good source of packages, and they have Zenwalk Gnome 6.4. I think, it worth get a try!

Something else! I heve been using Slackware from 10.0 version. Good distribution!
