"Set as wallpaper" drastically crops image.

When I try to set an image as wallpaper I get a severely cropped image no matter what I select. It used to work OK so I,m guessing it's something I've done that is causing this, but I cannot figure it out. Has anyone else had this problem? Driving me(even more)bonkers!

Read the "Question Guidelines" link in my posting signature. We're happy to try to help, but you give us no details. Version/distro of Linux? Desktop GUI/window manager? What you're doing to set it? Anything???

Also, you need to ask a moderator to move this, since you posted it in the "Suggestions and Feedback" section.

make, model, serial number 0f device you're using.

What Linux Distro, and what Programs / WindowManager / Desktop are involved in this incident that is causing this phenomenon needed (required). For starters.

Check the settings when you choose your picture - likely need to fill the screen.

If that doesn't work - give us more info.

The desktop does its best, but sometimes it needs help! Note your screen dimensions. You need the image to have the same proportions to avoid cropping, so do your own cropping using Gimp. I have 16 images in use, and several have needed editing.

Thanks for that David. Makes sense and I think I can manage from here (and climb a rung on the Linux education ladder!).
Better quit this now:- seems I've made a blunder and asked the question in the wrong place.
Thanks again for the pointer.
