Scrolling issue with Chrome, compiz and enhanced zoom desktop

I'm using compiz with enhanced zoom desktop plugin and have assigned <super>+mouse wheel to zoom-in and out. I have a problem with Chrome that when I press and hold <super> to zoom-in - the page is scrolling together with the zooming and that makes it very frustrating to use. Interesting thing is that this is not happening with Ubuntu 16.04 or Linux Mint 18.3. Every newer distro (tried Ubuntu 18.04, Antergos 18.5, Manjaro 17.1.10 (all with MATE desktop environment)) is affected by this issue. Chrome (and chromium) is currently the only program I've found that is behaving this way.

It would be very nice to find some clues of what is causing this and how can I fix it. Thank you very much for any kind of help.

You are using compiz?

I have used compiz and after 5 min of usage, my eyes were aching.

Yes, because it is the only desktop zoom solution that actually works, has tons of customization options and pretty good performance.
