Question Removing the window menu in GTK+ applications


I'm currently using vala-panel-appmenu. to get a MacOS-ish effect where applications' menus are up in the XFCE4 panel. This works well, but in some applications (notably LibreOffice Writer) the bar is duplicated, not moved. Is there some way to get the menu off the window?
