recommendation for media player with library
I need a media player that has a library feature, i.e. something that can organize the files based on the metadata of proprietary formats (MP3 and AAC) mostly.
My music folders are totally unorganized sans metadata, so regular players are of limited use to me. Any suggestions? |
You could move all the mp3 into another folder
mv *mp3 mp3 and then on both folders, use xmms to "open all files in directory. Xmms has a feature where you can sort the playlist by path which would effectively sort them by type, providing the different file types were in different directories. This script can sort by ID3 tags http://piedmont.homelinux.org/fedora/junksorter.pl.asc |
