quick question on WindowMaker and prboom

WindowMaker and prboom screen resolution.

is there a way to insure that the screen changes to accommodate prboom screen size then return to the default screen size when done and take over the screen as well when started?

as it stands it goes into a windowed environment and changes the entire screen to a (i'm guessing) 600x800 ish resolution then when exiting prboom instead of 1600x900ish (that is around the size of my screen res). it stays that 600x800 size where I have to logout and back in to get the max resolution back. (for lack of knowing a different way to change the resolution back to the max size.)

I forgot it does not even play at all. I only get a windowed black screen and sound and screen resolution gets set too small. but that xrandr worked of course. only drawback is that wMaker gets restarted and I got more than one instance of all of my dockapps running afterwords. So I still have to logout and back in again to clean that up or do a bunch of pkills to get rid of the duplicates.

It has been awhile since I have done this but I seem to remember I had a script that I would run from an icon on taskbar to get me back to normal resolution.

Yeah I can see how that'd be an easy task to do. Just create a executable dockapp thingy that prob WMaker has, like xfce4 has in its arsenal that can be added to it and have the capabilities to have it point to the script that has the prams in it to reset the screen using xrandr ...

It has been a while sense I tried using prboom in WindowMaker so I didn't remember correctly everything it wasn't doing. Which is actually showing the game, it gives me a window resets the resolution and I get sound but no actual playable game. I got a switch ttys login and pkill it to get my desktop back. then reset the resolution afterwards.

Its just whenever I am in WMaker I'll get to running a job or something then want to take a quick break so I fire up prboom, which when in any other WM it is no issue. Just when I am in WMaker and I cannot logout and into a different WM because I am running something.

oh well.
thanks
