Problems with kde and double monitor
 

Hello to everyone!

I've got my computer conected to a tv, when I use gnome, everything is perfect, but when I try to launch kde from my ethc, or from knoppix or from kubuntu, the letters are so little that I'm unable to read them, in order to fix it I have to take the cable of and turn off my computer.

I'd like to a add that I've got an ATI Radeom 1300x.

You can change the font sizes for KDE applications in KDE's Control Center. If you need to adjust the font sizes for GtK applications within KDE, one way to do it is to manually create a file ~/.gtkrc-2.0...I don't remember the exact details off the top of my head for what to put inside it.

Basically, GtK applications will use GNOME settings if you're running a GNOME desktop, but if you're running a KDE desktop they just default to some arbitrary default settings. They'll take settings from ~/.gtkrc-2.0 if that file exists.

Thank you very much for your attention, but the problem is that I can't literally open anything, the letters are too small, and when I shut down my computer and disconect the tv, everything is ok.:scratch:

I guess I don't understand the problem. How does the small size of the letters make it impossible to open anything?

From the first post, it sounded like it was a problem of legibility--so it might be hard to tell what you're opening, but it would be possilbe to open SOMETHING (at random). Increasing the size of the fonts should fix that. You can go into Control Center to change the size of the fonts to make them big when the system is working "normally", and see if the fonts remain big enough when the "shrinking" occurs.
