Problem with Xscreensaver

When I press a button or touch the mouse when my screensaver is on everything goes like it is suppose to, but when I preview a screensaver and move the mouse or press a button, the Xscreensaver freezes and I have to force quit it. The sreensaver window basically goes blank. What can I do to fix this?

Thanks for any help.

Do you see any error messsage?

If you can post a bit more about your system, including hardware, it might be easier for other penguins to help.

Happy Penguins!!

Thanks for the reply. I have updated my kernel and are now in the process of sorting out my graphics card driver for the new kernel. I will post here again if I have the same problem after that.

I'm still having that problem intermittently. No error messages.

System:
512 MB Ram
64MB Nvidia GeForce FX5200 graphics card
3.04MhZ P4 processor

Any help?

I'm using Debian Sid and have a Geforce FX5200 card and not having that problem.

I'm using the generic nv driver instead of the nVidia driver also. have you tried removing and reinstalling Xscreensaver?

Just a thought!

Yes I have reinstalled the Xscreensaver. I'm using the nVidia driver, but had the same problem while running the nv driver.
