Printing to a linux cups server via a web interface.

Hi,

I've tried to setup a CUPS server to share a printer between windows and linux machines.
While on linux machines all works perfectly, windows machines are printing stupid symbols.

I'm looking for a web interface to print pdf files using CUPS server, so windows users can print to a pdf file and upload it to the printer server.

Do you know if there is some tool for doing that?

Regards,

Victor.

Hi,

My suggestion would be check something like:

- Your CUPS server should be able to print postscript files
correctly if the printer is correctly configured.

- You should share your printer on the server using samba so the
windows machines can access it.

- In the windows machines, install the printer but use a postscript
model/driver, that way you are sending postscript files to the linux
server, there should be no problem with the printing.

Best regards,

I've moved these out to their own thread for better visibility.

Cheers.

Hi,

the problem seems to be that by using "Print test page" (only one page) the printer works perfectly but by using lpr or samba (one or more than one page) it prints stupid symbols.

I can not determine where is the problem, but this printer (Okipage 14E) seems to not work under linux.

Thanks,

Victor.
