printer duplexing: abiword works, why not OO or evince?

I am using gutsy and printing to a KonicaMinolta bizhub 350. It prints just fine, and I see the different driver options like optional duplexer. However, when I print, abiword and gedit are happy to print in duplex, but I can't get anything else to. OO prints single sided as does evince. I wish I knew why.

What gives? I am using the postscript PPD driver file.

In Openoffice.org, the printer tray options are off by default. Go into File - Print - Options, and, in the Other block, click in the "Paper tray from printer settings" box to turn on duplex printng.

I don't use Evince, so I can't say how to do it there.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that didn't work. I also tried highlighting the "create single print job" option, and that didn't work either.

One thing I noticed is that everytime I go to print, that option is deselected again, like it isn't remembered, so I wonder if it's really taking?

Thanks again.
