Pan graphic attachment preview setting

I love the Pan newsreader except:

Sometimes Pan will preview a graphic attached to a post and sometimes it won't. I recently switched from the fglrx ATI video driver to the radeonhd driver and now Pan seems to have decided that it shouldn't preview very many graphics. Perhaps it's just a coincidence.

It's annoying because I can't see any way to control when it previews and when it doesn't. There doesn't seem to be any setting in the GUI and I can't find any in the various config files either.

Anyone have any ideas on how to adjust it?

I don't think that the type of driver would effect previews in Pan. Unless compositing is used.

As I said, perhaps it's a coincidence. On the other hand, the fglrx-driver supports compositing while the radeonhd doesn't. There were some other Debian/Squeeze updates that were installed around the same time, but the fglrx-driver not being available was the big one.

However, after using the radeonhd for a while, I find a lot to prefer about it. Sure it doesn't give you the KDE 4 eye candy the same way the fglrx-driver does, but the desktop is noticeably faster and even videos play better.
