Overlapping Text in compiz

Hey everyone! Here's the problem:

Text inside windows that gets modified seems to overwrite itself without clearing the field first. I get the new text superimposed over the old.

This can be frustrating for things like Amarok's "Now Playing" line - it becomes a mashup of unreadable text.

I'm running Suse 10.3, kde3, qt, and compiz-fusion. It only occurs with compiz running. I have an nvidia card that has previously (and with my current xorg conf) worked without manifesting this problem.

Has anyone heard of this problem before?
Thanks;
Bill

I get window borders that will sometimes stay and never go away.
I'm on Ubuntu, and for me I can restart Compiz by issuing a "compiz --replace" command at the CLI. That clears any "ghosts" that may be lingering for me.
