OpenOffice Word Processor 2.0.2 Spell Check Problem (Ubuntu)

Hi!

I'm a newbie in Linux, so I don't know much about this...

My OpenOffice Word Processor 2.0.2 does not seem to have a spell checker. The spellcheck function seems to run, but what happens is that it just says that it is done correcting your document, even though you deliberately put some spelling errors in the document! I tried typing nonsense words (ex. jf;auerytaj;fbgjbsd), but it doesn't seem to recognize it as an error in spelling. What could be wrong?

You're going to need the myspell packages in your language, as well as the myspell libraries, as well as at least one dictionary in your language.

Here's what I have for spellchecking:
dictionaries-common
libenchant1c2a
libmyspell32c
myspell-en-gb
myspell-en-us
openoffice.org-l10n-en-gb
openoffice.org-l10n-en-us
