Opening i3 without a terminal in CentOS
I just recently installed CentOS and the first thing I wanted to do is get rid of gnome. (I'd been using it for a few months and I can't tolerate it.) So I uninstalled Gnome and instead got i3. Everything's fine so far, except that when I open i3, there's a terminal printing out what I assume to be output from i3. Is there any way I can make CentOS not open that? It's been a long while since I messed with X.

Well, I'm stupid. The command I was using to open X, "xinit -e /usr/bin/i3" was causing it. I just needed to remove the "-e".
