opengl is not displaying video correctly using ATI drivers

I'm using ATI driver, I have it working well with full 3d. The only problem is that when I view video's using mplayer with opengl the video is of to the side of the window, and there is a space on the right side.

here is a screenshot with fgl_gears as an example,

any help would be great! as I am completely stuck!

Have your tried any of the other options (such as X11,xv)? For all I know it could be another limitation of ATI cards. Last year I couldn't do any video stuff in opengl at all without mplayer constantly crashing.

yes, I've used the other options, my problem is it started doing this when I added the 2nd monitor.

Lots of things I use, use opengl so this is really buggin me.

Have you checked the list of know issues at the ATI home page? When I last used ATI (a month or three ago) there was an issue with double monitors - maybe it's still around?

yeah, I didn't see anything that is directly related. The weird part is that vlc player seems to be working fine, I'm not sure exactly which output it uses by default (not home to check).
