Hi, I cant find how to get active windows to turn transparent when the mouse cursor is outside the window (so i can see whats underneath). I can do it fine on distro's that will accept compiz but as far as i know cinnamon 2.8.6 on mint 17.3 does not play well with compiz.

I know i can role the mouse wheel on the title bar of windows but thats not what i want.

Must be a way to do it though, cheers.

it may be that cinnamon's compositor simply does not have that feature.

ok well what about changing the window theme , i like a dark theme and iv changed as much as i can but cant find how to change that actual windows to a dark color. I have changed the windows decorations and the cinnamon theme but nothing i do works to change the gray windows.

I installed LXAppearance (for lxde, no idea if thats ok on cinnamon or not) to be able to change gtk colours and this is ok



But after applying it does nothing



All very confusing , DE's, compositors, window decorators, compiz, GTK2/3, im pretty lost.
