Office 2.4.1 on Debian Lenny 64 bit

Hello, I am finding some buggy apps on this distro. For example Office Writer "edit" menu don't open at all. To copy and paste I have to use the mouse instead. Getting the spell checker to work is another goal.

I very much like to stick with Debian for learning purposes but really need reliable Desktop applications also.

Is there a work around?

Thanks

You could try Openoffice3 from Backports:

http://packages.debian.org/lenny-bac...openoffice.org

Or you could ditch OO writer altogether and use abiword:

http://packages.debian.org/lenny/abiword
