Non-working Broadcom Corporation BCM4318 [AirForce One 54g] 802.11g Wireless LAN Cont

First of all, let me say: "Your help is very much appreciated!"

Scenario: I have installed 32-bit Fedora 11 (KDE flavor) on my Hp Pavillion Desktop Computer. I have added a wireless card to the Computer (Dynex Enhanced Wireless G Desktop Card)

When I first booted the OS for the first time AFTER installation, My Network Device Controller shows a wlan0 device. However the device shows no wireless signals.

I have searched the internet extensively on how to make this card responsive and usable.

I installed via yum: kmod-wl
I also tried installing: akmod-wl
I also installed a wifi signal manager.

Lastly I tried the Official b43 wireless installation method:

http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/b43

After several reboots, I no longer even have a wifi device showing in my "Network Device control".

So I entered "Network Configuration"band tried to manually enable the device and is gives me the following error:

Cannot Activate Network Device wlan0!

WARNING: Deprecated config file /etc/modprobe.conf, all config files belong into /etc/modprobe.d/.
WARNING: Deprecated config file /etc/modprobe.conf, all config files belong into /etc/modprobe.d/.
Device wlan0 does not seem to be present, delaying initialization.

I am completely exhausted of resources and what to do.

Here is my lspci printout:

Here is a detailed step by step I found on using the fwcutter. I personally have had better luck with the older broadcom wireless using ndiswrapper but that can be detailed because you need to blacklist the current drivers. It should be easier to follow this guide.
