Question no video output in mplayer after updating xorg

Hello,

I'm using Slackware 13.37 and fglrx driver for my ATI Radeon HD3450. To use hardware acceleration for decoding HD content, I've installed vaapi.

Everything was fine till I've applied some updates from Slackware for xorg-server. Then nothing worked anymore, couldn't login to gui. I manage to login in qui after generating a new xorg.conf file, but then I couldn't view any video using mplayer, just audio.
See below the details of packages installed, errors, xorg.conf files and some tweaking on xorg.conf file.
What's wrong? Any suggestion?

1. Some of the updates applied:
Code:
xorg-server-1.9.5-i486-2_slack13.37.txz
xorg-server-xephyr-1.9.5-i486-2_slack13.37.txz
xorg-server-xnest-1.9.5-i486-2_slack13.37.txz
xorg-server-xvfb-1.9.5-i486-2_slack13.37.txz
In addition of those updates, there was a number of updates including a kernel one.

2. Mplayer
The command used to play videos with hardware acceleration
Code:
mplayer -vo vaapi -va vaapi -ao alsa zzzz.xxx
The result: no video output just audio, and the following message:
Code:
libva: libva version 0.32.0-sds2
Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".
libva: va_getDriverName() returns -1
[vo_vaapi] vaInitialize(): unknown libva error
Error opening/initializing the selected video_out (-vo) device.
I can get video output but without hardware accelaration by using:
Code:
mplayer -vo x11 zzzz.xxx
3. The old xorg.conf file that worked before the xorgserver update:
Code:
Section "ServerLayout"
	Identifier     "aticonfig Layout"
	Screen      0  "aticonfig-Screen[0]-0" 0 0

5. Tweaks on xorg.conf file
I did a number of tweaks over xorg.conf file using the old xorg.conf file that worked and the change that freezes the system seems to be in section "Device" under Driver. The generated file uses "radeon". If I change with "fglrx", reboot and statx the system freezes.

If you are using the proprietary driver from ati after upgrading the kernel you MUST reinstall the driver as a new kernel module has to be built.
