No QT 4.5 tray icons in KDE4?
 

Hi, I just complied KDE 4 using QT 4.5 from Trolltech (which I also compiled) and everything works fine execpt that QT apps show blank tray icons. GTK tray icons work fine on kde4 and QT icons (like kget or kxkb) also work fine in other desktops (XFCE 4). It might be a graphics card issue, for reference I use Ati catalyst 9.3 propetary drivers. An alternate solution might be an alternate tray, if someone could point one.

I'm using fedora 8.

The first versions of KDE 4.2.X had problems in the plasma, but the tray is not included.
The latest available version of KDE 4.2.4 works without reproach.
You can try to change the driver to radeon or vesa to verify.

why not install the supported fedora 10 or fedora 11
fedora 8 is past it's end of life.
