New network manager in squeeze
So I really liked netowrk manager/ network options from Wheezy. But I prefer running Squeeze anyway. In Wheezy I can setup only one connection for one interface, so they don't mess with each other. I've been running Ubuntu 10.04 for most of my time with linux and sometimes I disconnected and connected with wrong options for the interface. To make things clear, I have one connection via USB modem to connect to the Internet and second connection I use sometimes to connect to local device via ethernet cable. In wheezy I jsut setup connection for Internet and setup for PS3. And I could run both at the time unlike in normal network manager. Hope I'm clear. I want to get network manager from wheezy on squeeze. I already installed network manager gnome from bacports, but I don't see any change.

By the way, in ubuntu I had pidgin notifications on screen (like when someone shows up online or someone writes to me it poped on the screen)

Hello, you are not clear. Here's some criticism. I can't see how you running Ubuntu most of the time gives any relevance to the issue. It only makes your post more confusing and harder to grasp the problem.
Tells us what function of network manager in Squeeze, that you would like to work, that isn't.

I meant that network manager and options in Squeeze are like in Ubutu 10.04. And I had problems with multiple connections in Ubuntu.
So I want to have network manager from wheezy in squeeze. I installed network-manager-gnome from backports. But it still look and function same. In squeeze you can choose between all options you made for one connection. Who would need that. In wheezy you can set up only one option for one interface, so it doesn't mess up with each other.

Btw did anyone have a problem with making iceweasel defaut browser? Each time I run it, it says it's not default. I purged google chrome and still same. In pidgin links now do not open becouse it still thinks chrome is default. And I update-alternatives to make iceweasel default also.

Sorry, i'm still not following you, somebody else will have to fill you in. Good luck

It looks to me that you need to go through the options a little bit more and read.

About the browser, did you try;

update-alternatives -config gnome-www-browser

update-alternatives --config x-www-browser
About Pidgin, did you install;

libnotify bin

But can I have network manager wheezy like in squeeze?
I mean this is wheezy, organized just one settings per interface:
And this is squeeze where there's no separate connection just for ethernet port or just for usb port
And I already installed network-manager-gnome from backports, tried to install network-manager from backports but it says it's already newest.

In squeeze when I connect the device it doesn't connect to it automatically unlike wheezy. It doesn't know whether connect to eth1 or ps3 (with custom ip address). In wheezy I just turn on my playstation3 and it's connecting automatically in one second. I just want same functionality in squeeze. I can do without this, but it's just better.

Yes I tried to update alternatives, and exo-preferred-applications doesn't exist in my system.

I installed them and still I get no notifications on screen from pidgin.
