New GPU installed, Compiz loading everything blank

Hello world!
Im having trouble with my computer. I have just recently installed an ATI 1650X PRO and got all the new drivers for it. Upon reboot it ran fine compiz was running faster i was happy. Now after about 3 days of having the card installed and 9 boots later the system now boots a gnome session that will flicker the backround image and my dashboard then a bit beffore compiz displays it's splash it goes all blank. I can rotate this blank(white) cube and view transmission in it's white texturless glory hovering over the cube as it should - the coulour. THe cube also lags. Im assuming it's either the new card, however it was running fine at first, or compiz. I have reinstalled gnome to no effect. I am on the same system right now only loaded in a fresh KDE environment that is running fine (other then it being KDE)
Thanks for any help
-Lyph

*Update* I have tested to see if the drivers are honky dory and they aren't working properly. GLtron is a lagorama fest... how does one fix his drivers VIA KDE? Oh and Gnome doesent work in failsafe mode

What's wrong with running KDE? KDE is working and Gnome is well.... :)

The same way you would via Gnome, by editing your /etc/xorg.conf file.

You could see if there is a solution here: http://wiki.compiz-fusion.org/Troubl...3c3a8e2606f9b4

KDE...eww. Well actually im just a big baby, too lazy to
learn KDE. I dont really like the K bar and it feel's too windows'e. One of the reasons i usae gnome is to distance myself as much as i can from windows in order to discourage my brothe4r from using my partition and to reek jealousy in my winedow$ buddies :P.
Well thanks a bunch i'll go have a peak... however would you have any clue on what may have caused this? I think it may be that fact that i didn't remove twinview however it seems a little unrelated

Sorry I don't have a definate clue as to why your problem has occurred. All I do know is that ATI drivers tend to be a bit flakey and are prone to falling over for no apparent reason! Good Luck.
