Need help for better workflow

I need help with my WM/DE-setup so I get better workflow. Currently I use KDE, but I have used many different WM/DE, all are ok. The problem is that I can't seem to find right tools for my workflow.

Screenshot is from my current setup. Top left corner I keep list of launched applications. They are currently all in their own desktops. I move between desktops win+1/9.

But that is not the correct way for me. I would like to move between launched applications with win+1/9, not between desktops. Also I would like that the order of the launched applications is the "correct shortcut". First launched is win+1, second win+2 etc.

Is there tool for this in some WM/DE? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

This sounds a bit like the concept of tags employed by dwm, amongst others.
