n00b Gnome question

Hey guys, I'm use Gnome version 2.14.3 with Ubuntu 6.06. In 5.10 I could change the specific properties of the panels. How do I do this in 6.06? Specifically I want to change the time it takes to bring back a hidden panel, the time it goes down, and te size of the panel when it is minimized. I haven't found a way to do this yet, could any point this out for me? It seems like it should be easy to find...

Thanks!

Nevermind, I found the solution. Since I didn't know the command to launch the configuration editor I couldn't launch. But under Alacarte I found it and enabled it. Then under /apps/panel/objects/ contains the panels.

Sorry for the posting.

You should be quiet about settings like this. If the Gnome developers find out that anyone wants to change it, they're liable to remove that option for future releases...

You've made me smile today. :) Its amazing how a lot of functionality in GNOME has been removed in the name of simplicity and the HIG. GNOME is still good, but now lacks a lot of useful features or easy ways to configure and personalise the desktop.

No kidding! I also remember the Screensaver menu having more options. Like you could check which ones you didn't want and each screensaver had it's own little options. Now it's pretty much All or one, or none. :(
