Mouse randomly jumps to middle of the screen.

I use Slackware64 13.0, have been since it was released. Recently the mouse cursor on my desktop started jumping to the middle of the screen at random. I've not installed anything in quite a long time because I've pretty much got all the software I like precompiled and ready to install ahead of time. I don't use slackpkg and have not run any updates.

The only thing I can think of that's changed is that I started turning off my monitor's power saving settings when I want to watch shows or movies from the other side of the room. I use these commands to do so.

Code:

xset -display :0 s off
xset -display :0 s noblank
xset -display :0 dpms force off

I'm not even really sure if these are the correct commands, if any of them are extraneous, or what. It took me a while to figure out how to do this at all and as soon as I found something that worked I stuck with it. Could any of these be causing the problem?

I can not say for sure when the problem started, or if it started before or after I first ran the xset commands above. I'm not sure which logs to check for mouse behavior although I suppose I could find it if I just looked around /var/log.

Anyone had this problem before?
