Most efficient way of mounting a home area from a file server
Hi
Kinda new to the sysadmin scene. At the moment I mount /home from a fileserver via NFS and I use autofs to do this. Is there a better/more efficient way of doing this, perhaps by creating home directories on demand onto a local disk whenever the user logs in? I have about 50 systems running SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 11 SP2, and users can log into any system for their work. How would I go about it? Thanks in advance for any suggestions, Ian |
why do you want to change it? without any specific reason I would use this setup (automounter and auto unmount based on a timeout)

Just wondered whether there was a better way for organising that, but if that is the best way......
