Hello,
I just bought a new phone (Xiaomi T11 Pro) which has a camera which can record Video in the following quality:
"H.264" or "H.265" or "HDR10/10+"
If I record a video using H.264, it plays fine on my Kubuntu 20.04.5 LTS Desktop machine.
If I record in H.265 or HDR10/10+, the image is distorted.
I've attached a screenshot...
I am using VLC Media Player (3.0.9.2 Vetinari)
My video card is:
Code:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 06)
My kernel is:
The odd thing is that the video plays fine in these locations:
- on my phone
- on my Smart TV (4K Samsung)
- on my Laptop (which is a newer generation laptop) which also runs Kubuntu Ubuntu 20.04.5 LTS
Also, I searched on the Internet but I cannot find a definitive easy explanation of what is the main difference between H264, H265 and HDR10+... I found some technical explanations, however, Video Encoding is not my area of expertise...
Which one should be best to use ?...
If anyone has some ideeas, it would be great !...
Thank you.
