Manual configure desktop resolution

Hi Guys,

I'm using OpenSuSE 11.0 and i'm using sax2 for configuring my desktop resolution, i was wondering where can i manually configure it? I was wondering if it is "/etc/X11/xorg.conf". If it is, what portion or line in that file to change resolution?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Gurl4sh

You're guessed right, edit section "Screen" in your /etc/X11/xorg.conf.

Mine as an example: the key is the "Modes" line. The first one will be used if possible. You can put as many or few modes as you wish.

Code:
Section "Screen"
  Identifier "Screen0"
  Device "GF 6200"
  Monitor "Philips 109E5"
  DefaultDepth 24
  SubSection "Display"
    Viewport 0 0
    Depth 24
    Modes "1600x1200" "1280x1024" "1280x960" "1152x864" "1024x768" "800x600" "768x576"
  EndSubSection
EndSection
