LVM2 data striping.
 

Right now I'm running LVM2 across a 1TB and a 2TB setup. I might replace the 1TB with another 2TB drive. Both would be Sata II WD Black drives. I was wondering how much of a performance increase I would get if I striped the data across both drives.

Also, how would it affect adding drives in the future?

Been trying to do some research, but most articles mention it used on top of mdadm or hardware raid, not used alone.

...And yes, I do have the data backed up in case of drive failure.
