Locking Desktop / GUI Screen iin Linux cf. Windows

Hi,

How can we lock the GUI Screen (Desktop) in Linux so as a password must be supplied to unlock it just as we do by pressing Windows Logo + L keys simultaneously in Windows OS?

"Ctrl + Alt + L" does the work in much a similar fashion but no password is required to resume.

Thanks!

Ctrl + Alt + L tries to launch "xscreensaver-command -lock" in my ubuntu (and sadly fails), but you have a pinpoint to where to look, don't you? I know thre's a way to make it ask for a pass
