Linux GRUB issues
Hello all,
So I made a whoopsie. I originally had Windows 7 installed and I decided to make a partition with Ubuntu on it. Over the weekend I deleted the Ubuntu partition while in Win7, thus removing grub. I don't know what I was thinking, silly move. Anyways, now I cannot boot into my system or into a DVD. I tried going into my BIOS and setting CD/DVD as the number one boot device and I also tried hitting F10 and going into the boot options to directly tell the machine to boot from CD/DVD, yet I still arrive at the grub recovery> screen. Does anyone have any ideas for me? I am at a loss. Thanks! |
So apparently I can make a Live USB. I didn't realize I could do this so I apologize for wasting time. In case anyone stumbles across this post and need help here is what I did. I followed these instructions for making the Live USB:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/In...n/FromUSBStick Then these instructions to fix the Windows MBR: http://thameera.wordpress.com/2011/0...ive-cd-or-usb/ Tada, now it works! Thanks for taking the time if you did research trying to help me! |
