Which YAST repositories have you setup? Have you tried updating your installation sources before trying to install xine?

The truth is, I was having similar types of issues. I went the old fashioned way and downloaded the sources from sourceforge. I compiled the latest builds of Xinelib and the UI with no trouble what-so-ever. Mind you, I had to install using a special option: ./configure --without-caca
Otherwise, it wouldn't 'make' and kept resulting in errors directly assoiciated with the caca libraries.

I hope this helps you.
