Launching Chrome or Chromium causes KDE logout on Debian testing
So have had Chromium installed for months and months. Don't use it very often, once in a while (I still prefer Firefox/Iceweasel). So I tried launching it today, and my session logged me out back to the KDM login screen. I thought nothing of it, so logged back in, and tried again, and same thing. So did an apt-get purge chromium && apt-get autoremove --purge, deleted my .config/chromium folder, deleted the chromium packages from /var/cache/apt/archive and reinstalled. Same thing. So I tried downloading the actual Google Chrome and installed that, and it ALSO does the same thing.
Since it's logging me out, even launching it from a terminal doesn't give me any information, since said terminal closes when it logs me out. Anyone seen this and have any ideas? |
Forgot to add, happens with all users on box, not just my own.

Nevermind, figured it out. Hadn't watched what had updated recently and Xorg was updated. Even though 3d effects and everything were still working (weird), I needed to reinstall the Nvidia drivers and now it works exactly as it should.

Thanks! I wouldn't have guessed on the nvidia driver for that... i thought it was a google calendar or session problem haha!
Usually when the kernel updates, video is shitty or simply not working at all... but here i didn't see a visual difference, so i didn't think of updating the driver... Cheers :) |
